9:45 am to 9:58 am: Passengers on
United Flight 93 begin calling family and emergency lines on
their cell phones. During these conversations, they learn what has
happened at the World Trade Center and Pentagon and realize that
their plane is likely headed for a similar target in Washington
D.C.
Todd Beamer, while attempting to call his wife, is
patched through to a Verizon supervisor. He
tells what is happening on-board the plane and that the passengers
have decided to fight the hi-jackers in an attempt to prevent the
plane from hitting a target on the ground. The last thing
the Verizon supervisor hears is "Are you guys ready? Let's
roll."
At 9:58 am, the passengers storm
the cockpit and begin the confrontation with the
hi-jackers. In the struggle, the plane veers over
Pennsylvania.
