2001 ~ 2006

Nine years ago today, America woke to find our world changing before our eyes.  The images of 9/11 are those we swore we would never forget.

Each year at this time, we pause, and we remember.

Thousands of lives were suddenly ended by evil, despicable acts of terror. The pictures of airplanes flying into buildings, fires burning, huge structures collapsing, have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness and a quiet, unyielding anger.

            ~ President George W. Bush

The full horror of what has happened in the United States earlier today is now becoming clearer. It is hard even to contemplate the utter carnage and terror which has engulfed so many innocent people. We've offered President Bush and the American people our solidarity, our profound sympathy, and our prayers. But it is plain that citizens of many countries round the world, including Britain, will have been caught up in this terror.

~ British Prime Minister Tony Blair
