Start 5 ch and form loop and join and ch 2

ROW 1: 11dc in loop makes (12)

ROW 2: 2 dc in each dc makes (24)

ROW 3: Increase dc in each 2nd dc makes (36)

ROW 4: 1 sc in each dc Makes (36)

ROW 5: 1 sc in each sc makes (36)

ROW 6: Increase dc in each 3rd sc makes (48)

ROW 7: 1 sc in each dc makes (48)

ROW 8: 1 sc in each sc Makes (48)

ROW 9: Increase dc in each 4th sc makes (60)

Row 10: 1 sc in each dc makes (60)

ROW 11: 1 sc in each sc Makes (60)

ROW 12: Increase 1 dc in each 5th sc makes (72)

ROW 13: 1 sc in each dc makes (72)

ROW 14: 1 sc in each sc makes (72)

Now measure the circumference. It should be close to 21". If you need another inch or so, space out the stitches in the next row.

Continue 1 row dc and 2 rows sc till cap
measures 7-7 1/2 from crown to brim, making last row a dc row. Then do 4 to 5 rows of sc. The finished cap should measure 7-3/4 to 8-1/2" deep.
