Waffle Ribbed Neck Gaiter for the Troops

Materials:

100% wool or natural animal fiber WW yarn

Size 7 or 8 needles (flats or 16” circulars)

Marker

Directions:

If using size 7 needles, cast on 96 sts.

If using size 8 needles, cast on 92 sts.

If using circulars, place marker and being careful to not twist, join.

Work in K2, P2 ribbing for 8 rows/rounds.

Work waffle rib pattern as follows:

Knit 2 rows/rounds stockinette.

Knit 2 rows/rounds of K2, P2 ribbing.

Repeat these four rows/rounds until the piece is about 9-10” long.

Work in K2, P2 ribbing for 8 more rows/rounds.

Bind off loosely.  If done flat, sew seam.  Weave in ends.
